DESCRIPTION: Closeup of the "E" shaped bloodstain on the forehead of the man on the Shroud of Turin viewed with transmitted light. The string grid was laid over the cloth to provide researchers with a reference. The light shining through the cloth was from the focusing light of an endoscopic camera system.
